St. Vincent de Paul Society – Bringing hope and help to those in need.

Our mission is three fold: Friendship, Spirituality and Service. It is to deepen members fraternal and spiritual relationships with members and with God and from this experience go out to serve our neighbors in need. We do this through person to person visits with people who call the helpline in times of trouble. We offer information, community resources, compassionate listening, and encouragement. We help with practical, material and monetary assistance.

Meetings are the first Wednesday each month at 10 AM in the Parish Center. Volunteers will follow-up on calls for help from individuals in the local community, assessing their need for our assistance, data entry, or to go along on a home visit with a member. All money donated goes for direct aid to the people we serve.

We also sponsor a Soup Kitchen which serves lunches on Tuesday to between 30-50 people (mostly men) weekly in Canton. Clothing blankets, gloves, hats, socks, toiletries, etc. are also provided at Christmas time.

Our prayer is that those we help will see Jesus through us, for we certainly see Jesus in them.
